LA VAL FINCA ARENTEI ALBARINO, Rias Baxas, North West Spain                                 £18

CHABLIS PREMIER CRU, Domaine Motte, Burgundy, France 2018                                  £30
~ 100% Chardonnay ~ Lightly toasted buttery oak on the nose, the palate is complex and mineral yet ripe with plenty of fresh Chablis acidity.

CHATEAU DEVILLE ROUGE, Bordeaux, France 2016                                                           £18
~ 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet ~ Excellent wine really delivers a classic Bordeaux profile. High praise indeed for the skill of the winemaker.

GIVRY ROUGE 1er CRU CHAMP NALOT, Burgundy, France 2018                                       £30
~ 100% Pinot Noir ~ As usual it‘s the finical devotion to detail in the vineyard that elevates the wines above the norm: severe pruning, green harvesting & picking by hand. The Givry Rouge “Champ Nalot” undergoes maceration and fermentation for 12 days in stainless steel and is then aged in one-year-old oak barrels. A richly perfumed Pinot Noir exhibiting ripe cherry smells, strawberry and liquorice and undertones of menthol.

URBINA GRAN RESERVA ESPECIAL, Rioja, Spain 1994                                                          £40
~ Tempranillo, Garnacha ~ This bodega is situated in Cuzurrita de Rioja Tiron, on the north-western edge of Rioja. This family-owned, single estate winery, has 75 hectares of vineyards. A complex and concentrated nose of damson and summer pudding giving way to notes of vanilla, coffee and toasted almonds. With age the palate has become mellow and smooth with layers of dried fruit flavours with hints of coconut and fig. The finish is lingering and elegant.

'GAVANZA' RIOJA RESERVA, Rioja, Spain 2015 ~ MAGNUM ~                                                   £45
~ Tempranillo, Garnacha ~ Absolutely cracking wine. Bursting with flavours - berries, vanilla, coffee, you name it, they're all there. This mature 2015 throws a small sediment in the foot of the bottle, so be sure to reach for a decanter. Delicious and not to be missed, particularly given its reasonable price tag.

Mouth-watering paler than pale Rosé, tastes more like a quality Sancerre!

ANCRE HILL ESTATES ROSE, Monmouthshire, Wales ~ Organic/Biodynamic                      £25
~ 100% Pinot Noir ~ An electrically tart, juicy Rosé that’s lent an intense minerality, totally thirst-quenching summer Rosé

FINO SHERRY, BODEGAS CESAR FLORIDO, Chipiona, Spain      Half Bottle                           £10
~ 100% Palomino ~ As one of the oldest bodegas in Chipiona, a town that was once home to 83 wineries, César Florido is one of two bodegas left that are producing and bottling their own sherries. The Fino is from 20 year old vines. A clear pale golden in colour. Look for scents of toasted almonds and camomile. On the palate, bright with a lively acidity leading to flavours of green apple and sage with mildly salty notes. A vigorous and fresh wine that makes for a great accompaniment to seafood.

MANZANILLA SHERRY, BODEGAS BARRERO, Sanlucar, Spain      Half Bottle                         £10
~ 100% Palomino ~ Barrero was established in 1789 making it one of the oldest bodegas in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The average age of the straight Gabriela is around six years. The wine is lightly fined and filtered and has pale colour with lovely yeasty/freshly baked bread aromas and is soft and fruity with lots of saline complexity and power, but is incredibly easy to drink.
